Tehanu, & the Typical Fantasy Protagonist

It’s been a very odd week, all things considered. I had a delightful vacation, but coming back to work was, uh, painful, not helped by some things I got swamped with. I wasn’t even sure if I would be writing a Saturday Note this week, as I didn’t know if I’d be in on Friday, but here we are! And it’s the weekend! And Thanksgiving is coming up! And also I have a thing I need to paint next week…

I am currently re-reading Runemarks again, and I finished the Netflix Leviathan (which reminds me that I need to re-read those books, too). After that I’ll finish season four of The Witcher and then… Dark Winds’s newest season, I think? Presently playing through The Last Jedi on LEGO Star Wars.

There was a bit in which this week’s Saturday Note was going to be the “Reyna is Awesome” Note, as I have Puerto Rican matters on my mind, but we’re going with this one instead.

Greek Mythology Story Ideas

Hallo! I am out! So I have started working on this Note ahead of time to make sure that I have something to get to you.

Misunderstanding The Lord of the Rings

I will be out of town next weekend, and probably not able to upload something the weekend after that, so I find it unlikely that you’ll get Saturday Notes these next two weeks? I’m not sure. I’ll try to make it up somehow.

When you read this, I am probably reading The Star Wars Archives by Paul Duncan, though I may have moved to something else! I’m struggling to write; not because I don’t have ideas, but because I don’t know how to start the darn thing and it’s bothering me. Maybe I’m missing a writers’ workshop?

The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe is celebrating 75 years, by the way.

The Saturday Note will start a bit political, but we’ll move away from it as we go on, so stick with me.

On Bringing Back Dead Characters

By the time you read this, I expect I’ll have finished another Redwall book, and moved on to a mythology text. I’m still playing LEGO Star Wars and watching Leviathan on Netflix.

The official National Novel Writing Month organization is dead; but the month still exists, so jury’s still out on if I’ll do anything for it? November also has YALLFest’s 15th anniversary, but I will not be able to attend this year as I’ll be busy.
